“Can I exercise my eyes“ Yes, You CAN!
Go to the movies? I you do, make sure that you glide your eyes all around the screen. Don’t try to take in the whole scene at one time.
Try to look at one part of the screen, and the area right around that part.
If you go frequently to the movies, use it as a learning aid. If you are nearsighted, try to sit as close to the front where you can see without your glasses. And then, keep moving back a little at a time and see how far back you can go to see without glasses…and then, do the eye exercises and see if you can keep moving further back.
If you are farsighted, do the same thing in reverse. Again, do the eye exercises and see if you can continuously improve this.

It’s a long weekend in Canada, and along with this long weekend comes fireworks (my poor black lab hates the noise).
Prevent Blindness America warns that there is no safe way for nonprofessionals to use fireworks. It is only safe to enjoy the splendor and excitement of fireworks at a professional display.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, fireworks were involved in an estimated 9,200 injuries treated in U.S. hospital emergency rooms in 2006.
An estimated 6,400 injuries were treated in hospital emergency rooms during the one month period surrounding the Fourth of July.
* Eyes were the second most commonly injured part of the body, with an estimated 1,500 fireworks-related eye injuries treated in the same one-month period of 2006.
* Firecrackers accounted for 1,300 injuries, sparklers, 1,000 and roman candles, 700.
* Males suffered three times more injuries than females.
* 2,300 of the injuries were to children under age 15.

Avoid reading when you are tired or ill. If you have to read then you should do so for short periods of time, with lots of rest for your eyes in between.
If you are watching television, do NOT turn off all the other lights, but rather, keep a soft glow of light in the room. And as always, teach your eyes not to stare, to get fixated on one spot, but rather start to roam your eyes over the screen. And don’t forget to blink frequently!
While natural vision improvement isn’t nearly as profitable as surgery or corrective lenses, you, the consumer, can save hundreds or perhaps thousands of dollars by safely and naturally rebuilding your vision through the use of proven eye exercises.
