Dr. Chi-Chao Chan of the National Eye Institute in Bethesda, Md., examined the direct effect of omega-3 fatty acids on a mouse model of macular degeneration and found a diet with high levels of omega-3 fatty acids resulted in slower lesion progression — with improvement in some lesions.
Chan says the mice with slower disease progression had lower levels of inflammatory molecules and higher levels of anti-inflammatory molecules, which may explain the protective effect of omega-3 fatty acids.
Omega-3 fatty acids are found in high levels in cold water seafood — especially oily fish such as herring, mackerel, anchovies and sardines.
ps if you don’t like fish…or, if you don’t always have time to make fish on a routine basis, go for Omega 3 supplements.

In stark contrast to glaucoma and cataract, age-related macular degeneration (AMD) diminishes sight in a dramatic way: It affects the central vision. Although people with AMD rarely go blind because of it, many find it difficult to read, drive and perform other daily functions that require central vision. The number of cases of the disorder increases substantially among individuals over age 60.

Superfoods containing omega 3 and fish oils may help prevent the most common cause of blindness in old age, say scientists.
The benefits of eating oily fish, like mackerel, and nuts are already recognised in reducing the risk of Alzheimer’s disease and heart attacks.
But new US research suggests omega 3 fatty acids can also protect against the loss of vision that develops with age, known as AMD (age-related macular degeneration).

Every once in a while, during an activity, if it is safe to do so, and, if you are comfortable doing so, take your glasses off. Go as long without them as you feel comfortable.
Vision changes so rapidly that it is quite possible that you can see comfortably well for a short while. I know with myself, when I play the organ, every once in a while I see the notes almost perfectly clear!
This shows that your vision CAN change for the better.
P.S.: 20-20 vision can be achieved, no matter how old you are. As long as you have some sight, Vision Without Glasses™ can help you see again.

What’s also so great about the Rebuild Your Vision Program
is that you can do it almost anywhere. On your kitchen table, in your
bed, at work, in a hotel room, wherever. And anyone can do the eye exercises.
It doesn’t matter if you’re 9 or 90…
To improve vision naturally, there are a number of things that you can do. Interestingly, some of the old ideas that were thought to be untrue are now being looked at again. One is the stress of too much close work.
