Age Related Macular Degeneration. It’s a long sentence for a diagnosis. And, it doesn’t sound very friendly, I mean, with a word like -degeneration- in it, it is outright frightful.
Once diagnosed, you may be asked to look at a grid (Amsler Grid) daily and if things change dramatically, then call you doctor back.
Your doctor may even recommend eye vitamins, especially zinc.
This is very depressing, and, you are terrified. But, remember one thing, you will NOT go completely blind. ARMd is a condition that causes loss of central vision. And, this degree varies greatly from person to person.
You may have been told that nothing can be done. This is not true. Take an active part in your eye care right now! With a combination of Natural Eye Exercises and Vitamins you can help yourself.
